Google Authorship is the linking of original content on the internet to the authors who created it. Google is providing a huge benefit to setting this up, as they will sometimes put your Google+ thumbnail photo in the search results for searches that bring up your webpages. This can be a very important eye-catcher. It may already help influence search results too, and if not, I’m sure it will in the near future, as Google continues to push their Google+ social site.
So how do you get Google Authorship installed on your site? It’s a very simple two steps, as shown in this video. The steps are:
- Setup a contributor link to your website in your Google+ profile page.
- Add your Google+ url/id to your website, to be shown on all pages you have authored.
